I really liked the first season of this program, but the two succeeding ones, which moved further and further away from Phillip K. Dick’s original concept, were much less interesting.
They brought in a new team of writers for Season 4, and they knew from the outset that this would be the program’s last season. The writers were a cut above the previous ones, and they did a good job finishing up the existing story lines. Unfortunately for them, the better characters had already been killed off by the end of Season 3, and Rufus Sewell has always been a better supporting character than leading man.
Still, it’s nice to see Nazis lose. Especially today, when it looks like authoritarianism is in the ascendant again.
